形態特徵

• Culms tufted in small clumps with fibrous roots only, slender, 10-50 cm tall, obtusely trigonous, remotely 2- to 4-noded, usually pubescent.
• Basal leaves reduced to bladeless sheaths; bladed leaves on culm; blades linear, 5-15 cm long, 3-7 mm wide, 3-costate, soft, wholly pubescent, briefly acute at apex; sheaths 1-3 cm long; ligules 1-2 mm long.
• Inflorescence with 1 to 3 glomerulous clusters of spikelets, interrupted; clusters 1-2 cm across, bearing 3 to 10 spikelets, peduncles single mostly inclosed in bractsheath; bracts leaf-like surpassing inflorescence. Spikelets ovate or oblong-elliptic, 4-7 mm long, 3 mm wide, subacute at apex, grayish green; covered with woolly hairs.
• Glumes elliptic, 1.5 mm long, thinly membranaceous, pilose outside, costa 3-nerved, projected beyond acute or obtuse glume apex into a recurved awn ca. 1 mm long. Achenes obovate, 0.8 mm long, sub-sharply triquetrous with obscurely wrinkled sides, short-stipitate at cuneate base; style 3-fid. Hypogynous bristles 3, needle-like, occasionally much reduced. Hypogynous squamellae 3, equalling achene, longitudinally rectangular with mucronulate apex, long-stipitate at base, brownish.

分布

• 台灣 : Wet places, often on river banks or in rice fields.
• 世界 : Warm temperate and tropical regions of Asia from India to Japan, and Malesia.
